GREG LION

Greg Lion is a French composer, music producer, and DJ. He epitomizes the harmonious fusion of his classical music training with the infectious energy of electronic music.

His educational journey took place in the halls of some of France's best music conservatories (Marseille and Nice) as well as Paris’ prestigious École Normale de Musique, under the tutelage of renowned masters such as France Clidat and Grigory Gruzman. This training not only improved his abilities as a solo and orchestra pianist but also gave him a deeper appreciation for the depth and complexity of classical music.

Venturing beyond the classical realm, Lion has adeptly translated his rigorous training into the dynamic world of electronic music, showcasing his versatility across compositions, productions, DJ sets, and live performances. His signature sound, a blend of classical music elements with contemporary electronic beats, has resonated with audiences worldwide, marking him as a trailblazer in the industry and a sought-after live performer.

His foray into music production was highlighted by his acclaimed work on the "Transit City" original soundtrack for which he garnered international recognition and set the stage for future projects blending classical and electronic music. Lion's ability to create immersive soundscapes that appeal to a diverse audience has been a hallmark of his production career, as illustrated by the acclaimed score he penned for Marseille’s National Ballet.

Lion's collaborative endeavors with Jacques Lavoisier as part of the French duo "Jacques & Gregory" highlight a 15+ year friendship and creative partnership that transcends music alone (Lavoisier is also a world renowned neuroscientist). Together, they have not only made waves in the DJing and music production scene but also co-founded Cave Carli Radio (CCR) and DJs4good. CCR aims to promote electronic music globally, while DJs4good raises funds to support social impact and charity projects, showcasing Jacques & Gregory’s commitment to using music and dance as a force for good.

In 2024, Jacques & Gregory made history by becoming the first French artists to sign with TRAX Records, marking a significant milestone in their careers and bringing their unique sound to a broader audience. This move underscores their role as pioneering figures in the house music community and their ongoing contributions to the genre's evolution.

Greg Lion's journey from a classically trained musician to a celebrated figure in the electronic music scene embodies the transformative power of music. His ability to bridge diverse musical genres and cultural dialogues has made him a pivotal asset to TRAX Records' legacy and the broader music community. Lion's career, characterized by innovation, versatility, and a commitment to social engagement, reflects the dynamic potential of electronic music to innovate, unite, and inspire, making him a luminary in the contemporary music landscape.
